Catholic Engaged Encounter of San Jose
The Engaged Encounter Weekend offers couples a unique opportunity to look at their commitment to each other in a deeper way as they prepare for marriage. It gives them the opportunity to focus exclusively on each other for a weekend in peaceful surroundings, free from the pressure and distractions of the outside world.
What Is Engaged Encounter?
We want to be a positive part of your engagement. We are an energized community of volunteer couples and priests whose common bond is our belief in the sacrament of marriage and family life. We provide a working weekend retreat format designed to create a focus on private couple communication.
What Happens On A Weekend
An atmosphere is created for the two of you to concentrate exclusively on each other, free of the distractions, pressures and interruptions of daily living – a "time out" away from home, friends, and wedding preparations. There are no group dynamics or group therapy.
Schedule on Weekend
The weekend usually begins at 7:00pm on Friday and goes until around 3:00pm on the Sunday. Couples stay at the facilities throughout the weekend as the scheduled is designed with a retreat atmosphere in mind. Meals are served throughout the weekend except for Friday night, so you may want to eat before you arrive!
